Ten Years of Toy Drives: Dr. Casi McFarland and Envision Health
Reach’s participation in the Holiday Giving Project, where we distribute hundreds of meal baskets, gift cards, and toys to children for the December holidays, wouldn’t be possible without our partners who help collect and donate toys. We’re highlighting Dr. Casi McFarland and Envision Health as she celebrates 10 years of supporting Holiday Giving.
Dr. Casi organizes a toy drive every year, typically donating 100+ toys to be distributed to children through the Holiday Giving Project. Her motivation extends back to her childhood in a small town in the Midwest, where her family received donated Thanksgiving and Christmas meals each year.
“For a long time, I didn’t realize we were receiving help; I just thought holiday meals magically showed up on everyone’s doorstep,” she recalls. It wasn’t until middle school that she learned the meals were gifts from people who cared. At her high school graduation party, she discovered she had been an “Angel Tree kid” her entire childhood. “One woman, Miss Judy, chose my name every single year because she knew things were difficult at home and wanted to be a quiet blessing.”
These experiences stayed with Casi and shaped the way she shows up in the world, inspiring her to become a chiropractor and nutritionist. “I want people to feel seen, supported, and cared for in ways that truly improve their lives.” Envision Health Chiropractic & Wellness Center is built around that idea – creating a warm, patient-centered space where people can heal, learn, and feel empowered in their own health.
When Casi moved to Maryland and opened her business, she wanted to continue the Angel Tree tradition she’d started at her first practice in Minnesota. It took her some time to find a partner organization, but eventually she discovered Reach (Community Ministries of Rockville at the time). “Their mission aligned perfectly with what I wanted to do: support local children and families in a dignified, meaningful way,” Casi recalls. She hung her first Angel Tree with just ten angels, but it has since grown to over forty angels, and many eager patients who want to contribute toys. “The generosity still amazes me,” she says. “This isn’t just about gifts—it’s about creating moments of joy and dignity for families who need it most.”
Thank you, Dr. Casi, for your ongoing support for families in need in our community!
