This project supports families of 1st generation, at-risk, middle and high school students with information about higher education and workforce development. Parents are lower income, non-English speaking, immigrants. They learn

about school processes and resources, the college application process, and financial aid so they can help prepare their children for opportunities. Students learn skills to help prepare for and transition to high school and a future that can include higher education. To enroll in this project. families must be invited. They are involved with LOP through classes, or referred by our partner schools. Goal-setting, academic success skills, leadership development, group volunteer projects, visiting colleges and businesses are all part of the student curriculum. Parents meet separately and are required to be involved in order for their student to participate.
