ROCKVILLE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (REAP)
Financial Assistance and Connection to Resources
In 1981, the City of Rockville asked Reach to help residents avoid eviction and utility termination with the City's financial assistance. The Rockville Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) began by offering that assistance a few hours each week with an all volunteer staff.
Over 40 years later, REAP serves all of Montgomery County, helping create more stable communities by keeping families and individuals in their homes. REAP helps prevent homelessness, long-term damage to residents' finances, and major disruptions caused by eviction like changing schools, breaking up communities, and more. REAP also serves as a hub for connecting residents in need to resources that improve their overall well-being.
Testimonials
The clinic staff called me over and over again to get tested for colon cancer. I followed their recommendations and thanks to all the staff, the doctor and the manager, I was saved from advanced cancer. They discovered my cancer early and thanks to them I no longer have cancer.

I wanted to find a way to help people in my own community avoid evictions and potential lifelong housing instability. Fortunately, I discovered REAP, which helps individuals and families do just that.

I am very appreciative of the services REAP provides to families like myself who need a little help when they are in crisis and need a place to turn to as a safe haven.

Here are ways to help
Method 1
Volunteer your time
REAP relies on dedicated volunteers who serve as intake coordinators on weekdays, morning or afternoons. Volunteers can also assist with the Holiday Giving project to create and/or distribute food baskets.
Method 2
Donate funds
The Rockville Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) is a program of Community Reach of Montgomery County ("Reach"), which is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service under tax ID #52-0910334.
