Supporter Spotlight: Capital Bank

We are proud to spotlight Capital Bank—a longtime corporate supporter, loyal gala sponsor, and partner in Reach’s mission.

Capital Bank’s relationship with Reach and the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic spans more than two decades. Their involvement began when Capital Bank leaders, including Scot Browning, joined the Board of Directors of Reach (known at the time as Community Ministries of Rockville). What initially attracted them was Reach’s ability to create an immediate, measurable impact for people in their own community.

“We really appreciated the ability of CMR to make a difference for our friends, customers, and neighbors right here in Rockville,” Browning recalls when reflecting on his decision to serve on the board.

That opportunity for local impact has kept Capital Bank engaged year after year. Seeing firsthand how every dollar directly supported families and individuals in need reinforced the Bank’s belief that investing locally brings their values to life.

“As a successful financial institution, we have the ability and the desire to help make a difference,” Browning explains. “Empowering those who are undeserved is right in line with what we believe is important as a responsible corporate citizen.”

Capital Bank was a founding supporter of the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic when it opened in 2009 and of our relocation campaign in 2024 to move into a more modern, updated space. The Bank was also involved in Reach's 2014 purchase of Rockland House, now a permanent supportive residence for women transitioning out of homelessness.

Capital Bank employees like Rouzanna Oganissian have volunteered with a number of Reach programs, including our Holiday Giving food distributions that provide meal baskets and gifts for families who need them during Thanksgiving and the December holidays.

In addition, Capital Bank has been a steadfast supporter of Reach’s Annual Gala, recognizing its importance as both a celebration and a moment of reflection. “When you’re in a room together with everyone else—organizations, friends, and supporters—it really crystallizes [the impact] very tangibly,” Browning says. “It makes you recognize that your time, effort, financial support is well worth it.”

We are deeply grateful for Capital Bank’s partnership and their commitment to empowering local residents. Together, we continue working toward a world where all people have equal access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
