SENIOR REACH

Home Care and Other Services for Seniors

In 1983, Senior Reach (formerly Elderly Ministries) was established at the request of the City of Rockville to address the needs of lower-income seniors and help them age in place. Senior Reach’s services help the elderly maintain their independence and avoid costly assisted living facilities, loneliness, or other risks while keeping them involved in the community.

Program Services

Senior Reach improves the quality of life for low-to-mid-low-income Rockville seniors by providing a wide range of services and resources that allow them to safely and comfortably age in place. These services include home care services, assistive devices, food delivery, volunteer services, social and learning activities, and minor home repairs.

Home Care Services

Senior Reach contracts with local home care agencies to provide weekly in-home care services. Eligible clients receive two to six hours of light housekeeping and personal care from professionals who perform services ranging from cleaning, dusting, laundry, and meal preparation to hygiene assistance.

Safe and Secure Services

Senior Reach helps seniors who own and live in their own homes to make repairs that are necessary for their security and safety. Projects include installation of home safety modifications, small maintenance projects, and replacement of essential appliances.

Case Management

Senior Reach staff provide individualized support for clients to connect them to resources, social activities, and other information based on their needs. Clients can receive medical alert devices, attend group events with local volunteers, and be connected to other needed resources and services.

Testimonials

The clinic staff called me over and over again to get tested for colon cancer. I followed their recommendations and thanks to all the staff, the doctor and the manager, I was saved from advanced cancer. They discovered my cancer early and thanks to them I no longer have cancer.

The impact of LOP extends far beyond the classroom. It ripples through families, neighborhoods, and our entire community. It is a program that embodies the essence of unity and inclusivity, breaking down the barriers that separate us, and building bridges of understanding.

The Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic is an example of what is possible when we commit to doing what is right, taking care of people. We gain a stronger community in the process.

I am very appreciative of the services REAP provides to families like myself who need a little help when they are in crisis and need a place to turn to as a safe haven.
