About REAP
Established in 1981, the Rockville Emergency Assistance Program (REAP) protects families from being evicted or from having their utilities terminated. REAP also offers financial assistance to cover prescriptions or medical procedures, and referrals for food, clothing, dental and vision care, and computers. Clients also receive case management to identify available resources and complete applications for government assistance.
REAP clients often live paycheck to paycheck. An unexpected expense like an illness can jeopardize their ability to pay their monthly bills. In fiscal year 2024, REAP protected 204 people with financial assistance and provided referrals that helped 1,068 community members. Since 1981, REAP has helped more than 28,000 people in Montgomery County, MD.
Reach supporter and founding member, Rockville United Church (RUC), hosts our annual REAP Choral Concert to raise funds to support the program. Under the coordination of Linda Weaver, local choruses collaborate to present an evening filled with song and the spirit of giving.
