SENIOR REACH

Established 1983

Senior Reach provides a wide range of services to low to mid-low income City of Rockville Older Adult residents that allow them to age in place. Services that are offered include home care services, monthly service of assistive devices, food delivery, volunteer services, and minor home repair.

HOME CARE SERVICES

The Senior Reach Program hires local home care agencies to provide case management and in-home care services. Eligible clients receive two to six hours of weekly home care services from professional providers who perform services ranging from cleaning, dusting, laundry, and meal preparation, to assistance with personal care and hygiene.

SAFE AND SECURE PROJECTS

The Senior Reach Program partners with contractors and volunteers to provide a wide range of services, such as plumbing and electrical repairs, replacement of necessary household appliances, annual HVAC inspections, minor repairs, as assistive devices, and delivery of food from nonprofit food services to eligible clients.

Additionally, Senior Reach installs safety devices such as railings, ramps, grab bars, hand-held shower nozzles, and bathroom assist devices.

HOW TO GIVE HELP

Provide Time

Individual volunteers who speak English, and those who are bilingual in English and Spanish, Mandarin, Russian, Farsi,, or French make weekly calls to our clients.  They check on the same client(s) each week to make sure they received homecare services and see how they are doing.  Friendly visitors can provide companionship, conversation, cook a meal, help complete a task, or go for a walk.  Volunteers who are interested in driving a client to the doctor, the grocery store, to run errands, or to deliver food from Manna Food Pantry are also needed.

Groups can help with lawn care, interior painting, spring cleaning, organizing, preparing for a move, providing a meal, or social events.

Provide Funds

Senior Reach is a program of Community Reach of Montgomery County (Reach). Reach is a non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service, under tax ID #52-0910334. Donations made through the Donate button below, or checks sent to Senior Reach with "Senior Reach" written in the memo section, will go directly to supporting the work of Senior Reach. We are grateful for any level of support.

Provide Goods

Our clients would benefit from gift cards for grocery stores and big box stores such as Target or Walmart. Gifts at the holidays are always welcomed, as are care packages at any time. School children have donated greeting cards they have created to celebrate holidays like New Years, Mothers Day, First Day of Spring, and more. Occasionally, a senior client is in need of a specific appliance or piece of furniture. We generally request these specific items in our monthly newsletter or through social media.

Donations can be delivered to our 1010 Grandin Avenue office during normal business hours, or call 301-637-0730 to make arrangements.
