COMMUNITY REACH
OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY
Established 1967
OUR MISSION
We seek to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable Montgomery County residents by providing them with basic health and human services and advocating on their behalf, with the goal of helping them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency.
OUR VISION
The vulnerable population of Montgomery County achieves self-sufficiency and an improved quality of life.
Making a difference on a local level
We understand the importance of community.

For over 55 years, Community Reach of Montgomery County has helped the vulnerable in Rockville and Montgomery County. We believe that "community" means actively supporting and empowering all residents to succeed. Our clients include low-income, elderly, and immigrant populations, those experiencing homelessness, and any other groups that are more susceptible to experiencing discrimination or disadvantage.
Our work aims to break down barriers that prevent these underserved groups from achieving the quality of life that they deserve. By addressing the unique needs of Montgomery County residents, we aim to cultivate a community that embraces compassion, cooperation, and shared progress.
We respond to community needs.

Despite Montgomery County's reputation as a wealthy county, a significant number of residents still face economic and social disparities. It can be easy to live here and ignore the people who endure daily hardships, but the numbers are harder to ignore.

In 2023, over 80,000 residents are living in poverty, including nearly 14,000 senior citizens.
Approximately 70,000 residents lack health insurance. In January 2023, a survey identified 894 homeless individuals, a 54% increase from the previous year.

Reach responds to this situation by operating five distinct programs, each addressing a distinct community need. Together, the programs form a safety net of crucial health and human services, offering:
-
Healthcare for uninsured and underinsured adults in Montgomery County
-
Permanent, supportive housing and case management services for men and women who experienced homelessness
-
Financial emergency assistance and referrals for support services
-
English language classes and preparation for the US Citizenship Exam
-
Services for senior City of Rockville residents to enable them to age in place
