Successful Treatment by Dr. Spiegel Results in Freedom from Pain

Mirna Callejas is a chef. Neil Speigel is a doctor. He is a Specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. Ms. Callejas and Dr. Speigel crossed paths recently at the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic. Mirna had been a patient for several years. She was a patient before the Clinic actually opened its doors, turning to CMR for health care when it arranged for medical services in vans at local churches. Dr. Speigel, who has volunteered his entire career, was instrumental in making the Clinic a reality. He now serves on the Clinics’s Board and sees patients once a month. Mirna was one of the patients he recently saw. She came to the Clinic experiencing extreme pain in her hand. She was close to quitting her job because she could not stand the pain much longer. Dr. Speigel diagnosed her with Flexor Tenosynovitis, which is commonly known as trigger finger. He treated Mirna, told her that she would have pain for about three days and after that the pain should disappear. According to Mirna, “It was like magic, the pain disappeared….He was right, now I have a new hand”. Now pain free, she can continue to work.

Dr. Speigel’s message to people in need of care is that “There is always hope that someone will listen and care for you even when you don’t have the means to pay for your care”.
