Thanks to your support we have been able to help an excess of 5,200 elderly,
families in crisis, recent immigrants, working poor and homeless people in the past
year. We have been doing this since 1967, but the combination of an uncertain
economy and budget cutbacks, has increased levels of anxiety, unemployment and
families in crises.  In short, we are being challenged like never before to expand
our services.

We were able this year through a combination of grants and community support
to double the REAP assistance. In recent days we have helped people like Jim,
addicted to drugs and alcohol, who completed our program at Chase House and
has now working in a prestigious company in Rockville, or John who is now
working as a counselor in our Chase Program and is giving back to the
community.  Cecilita is in her eighties, lives alone, and is dependent upon our
Elderly Ministries Program for an aide to help her four hours each week. This
invaluable assistance helps keep her independent and living in her own home.
Stories such as these are a testimony of how the Rockville community comes
together through Community Ministries of Rockville to Create a Better Community.

Community Ministries of Rockville will continue to offer programs that serve a
whole spectrum of human need, such as our Chase , Jefferson and Hope homeless
programs, Hispanic Outreach Programs, Elderly Ministries, Emergency Assistance
and our new Health Program designed to meet the needs of Rockville’s uninsured
residents. Much of the needed financial support for CMR has not materialized, and
yet we continue to provide services to our neediest citizens.

We are now faced with new opportunities to expand our Ministries to the Greater
Rockville Community. We thank you for your past support, your concerns and
your prayers. Your gift to CMR at this time will make a difference and enable us to
continue to help Rockville’s neediest citizens.
