Agnes first joined CMR in 1991 as a volunteer accountant and soon became a full-time employee charged with updating CMR’s accounting system. Later, Agnes proposed and founded CMR’s Language Outreach Program, directing that program until 1998 when she was promoted to Managing Director. As the Managing Director, she was responsible for oversight of all direct service programs, day-to-day operations of the organization and administration oversight. In 2008, Agnes was named Executive Director of CMR, and as such, she is responsible for CMR’s administration, fundraising, advocacy, and operation of all direct service programs.
Agnes is fluent in both Spanish and English, knowledgeable in Latino/Hispanic culture issues and serves on several boards and commissions. Ms. Saenz is a member of the Latin American Advisory Committee for Montgomery County Executive, a member of the Montgomery Cares Advisory Board, a member of the Health Centers Leadership Council for Montgomery County Clinics and a member of the Human Services Advisory Commission for the City of Rockville. Agnes is also a graduate of the Leadership Montgomery class of 1998.
Agnes has a BS Degree in Business Administration with major in Management and Accounting from the University of Lima, Peru. She received her Masters Degree in Human Resources from the University of Maryland University College.
Lynn Arndt joined CMR first as Director of Volunteer Services. Her position grew when that position was merged with the development office and she became the first Director of Development and Volunteer Services. In January 2014, Lynn stepped into a new role at CMR as its Deputy Director. As such Lynn is responsible for the management of CMR's Programs including Elderly Ministries, Housing Program, Language Outreach Program, Rockville Emergency Assistance and Holiday Giving. She oversees the fundraising and grant writing efforts for both CMR and the Mansfield Kaseman Health Clinic. Prior to joining CMR, she operated a government contract-consulting firm and worked as an attorney and lobbyist. Throughout her professional career, Lynn volunteered extensively, in schools, on community boards and in sports. She is a graduate of Syracuse University Law School and SUNY Brockport.
Jody joined CMR in 1996 as an accounting assistant and now serves as CMR’s Finance Director. Jody is responsible for all facets of CMR’s financial operation including all financial records, bank accounts, monthly financial statements, budgeting, invoicing, payroll and coordinating the annual audit. Jody holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Maryland.
Director, Language Outreach
Cecilia joined CMR in 1993 as an LOP Teacher and coordinator of the children’s program. A former high school teacher, Cecilia has been responsible for CMR’s Language Outreach Program since 2001. In this position, Cecilia and her staff instruct over 450 adults annually in English as a Second Language while also providing homework tutoring, pre-school readiness, and childcare for the participants’ children while their parents are in class. Prior to being named Director, she held several positions within the Program including instructor, coordinator of the children’s program, and co-director. Cecilia holds a BA in Education from the Universidad Particular Inca Garcilazo de la Vega, Lima, Peru. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Interim Director, Elderly Ministries
Andrea Rogers came to Community Ministries of Rockville first as a volunteer to our Development office in 2011. Her artistic skills and background in event planning are evident in all CMR events and fundraisers. In 2013 Andrea transitioned her work from a volunteer to staff as an administrative assistant to both the Finance and Development Offices. This past year she added new responsibilities to her schedule, serving as an Assistant Program Director to the Elderly Ministries Program. In that new position, Andrea was responsible for managing the program's volunteers and Safe & Habitable Home Project. As such, Andrea coordinated all the home modifications and repairs done for our clients and began a partnership with the Montgomery County Fire Department for Home Safety Checks for our clients through which the clients received new smoke and CO detectors. In April of 2015, Andrea became the Interim Program Director for the Elderly Ministries Program. She enjoys working with our "young" seniors who are enjoying her enthusiasm in all she does.
Outside the office Andrea is a part-time student at Montgomery College and still enjoys her art and event planning activities. She is the first person called by friends and family for any party planning.
Director of Development and Volunteer Services
Andrea came to CMR as Director of Development and Volunteer Services in October 2013. She brings a great deal of experience in the non-profit world of Montgomery County. Directly before her work with CMR, Andrea served as senior fellow with the Montgomery County Volunteer Center. She has also served as a marketing director and organizational manager in a number of industries. With experience in for-profit, non-profit and government organizations, Andrea brings an understanding of the needs of each and how they can effectively interact. A lifelong resident of the county and a regular volunteer, Andrea feels honored to use her unique skill set to assist the underserved in our community.
Director, Rockville Emergency Assistance Program
Odeth Berlin joined CMR in 2006 serving as office receptionist for 5 years. As such, she was often the first person at CMR a person in crisis heard when calling for assistance and was trained to make the necessary referrals for help needed. In 2011, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Development and Volunteer Services helping providing support in CMR and Clinic fundraisers and events as well as recruiting and coordinating volunteers for all of CMR;'s programs. Odeth oversaw CMR's Holiday Giving Program and served as a speaker in the United Way and CFC work force campaigns. In October of 2013, Odeth transitioned to the role of Program Director of REAP.
Director, Housing Programs
Kamika came to CMR in January of 2014 with vast experience in supportive housing programs. Most recently, she was Assistant Program Director at Fellowship Health Concepts. Kamika actually is returning to CMR, having worked in one of CMR’s previous housing programs, the Chase Partnership House. Kamika has a bachelor degree in Social Work and a double minor in Sociology and African American Studies from Frostburg State University, and is working toward a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Howard University.
