"Many hands make light work." This familiar
expression describes perfectly the rich balance
of service and selflessness that defines our
volunteers.
On any given day of the year, CMR’s volunteers
are helping families receive financial emergency
assistance to pay for rent when facing eviction,
delivering food to low-income seniors, preparing
a meal for the residents of Chase Partnership
House, assisting Latino children with homework
while their parents take English classes, or
referring individuals to clothing, food, dental,
vision and medical care resources.
These are just some of the many things
volunteers do for clients at Community
Ministries of Rockville. When operating a not-for-
profit organization like CMR, volunteers are
essential to maintaining our level of services.
Many of our volunteers have been with us for
ten years or more. We are blessed with the
commitment and dedicated and caring work
donated top CMR year after year.

41 Years of
serving the
community
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and to thank the hundreds of volunteers
who work to alleviate the struggles of people among us. Representing an amazing gift of personal
time and effort, 6,671 hours of volunteer service was shared with us in this fiscal year. In FY06,
the value of in-kind services was over $600,000.
