Residents of the houses are single adults who share
a congregate living environment and the chores that
come with running a home. They receive case
management services, assistance with
transportation, jobs, and/or education. They are part
of a group living environment that creates a
community, which is essential to success. The Case
Manager works with each resident individually on
budgeting and financial issues, housing services,
personal goals, community service work, providing
outside speakers, nutritional assistance, educational
assistance and follow up on relapse prevention.
Hope Housing
Community Ministries of Rockville
HOPE provides housing support to
formerly homeless men and women with
disabilities who are graduating from
treatment programs. As part of the
program, CMR opened three houses in
Rockville and they serve a total of 15
individuals. Two of the houses are for
men and one is for women.
Kay came to Hope Housing after being homeless in Montgomery County and winding up in the emergency shelter for women. She was 63 years old with chronic health issues and no family support. Now she sleeps comfortably and safe in her own room and is continuing to address her health concerns. Since her admission to the Hope Housing program, she is part of the CMR family!
